We are installing a new generator with twice the capacity of our present generators. As you know we provide power around the clock for our operations. Brownouts will be a thing of the past.

We have a new cook this year and we will continue to provide good meals while trying to give you an ALASKAN EXPERIENCE by serving you some of Alaska’s unique meals. If you catch it bring it in and we will serve (most of it) to you as an appetizer that evening. Octopus, rock fish, large sculpin, (no skate – does not have a filet), clams, shark (need to
have fresh back straps – cannot sit in the boat for hours because they urinate through their skin).

We are making arrangement to have adequate supplies of bait for salmon and halibut fishing. Last year was an excellent year for King Salmon, best in the last 6 years. All indications with the winter King run are similar to last winter, so we are expecting a good King run this spring/summer.

The Halibut fishing was super last year as it has always been. Here is an action picture of a 2014 halibut catch. Our limits are the same, two halibut a day any size. We fish 20 – 90 feet of water and most of the halibut are caught in 40 – 50 feet of water. No, 250 – 350 foot drops with 5 lb balls. We use 16 – 24 oz balls in shallow protected waters.

In 2015 we began to have a pig barbeque every week. It was a huge success and we will continue the barbeque this year with a few improvements. Left over pork will be available as pulled pork sandwiches the next day.

We are making improvement to our deck with more counter space and chairs. The huge spruce tree next to Cabin 1 is scheduled for removal which means there will be no more dodging of the Eagle bullets.

The expansion of our dock has proven to be a huge success with no more jumping boats or waiting for the tide. (Exceptions for the big minus tides. Still navigable with engines trimmed up). No walking through the mud, just walk down to the dock, get into your boat and head for the fishing grounds.
